FIRST RESULTS AND WORK IN PROGRESS
Standard of professional competence for mentor in eco-industry

EcoMentor project aims at developing and testing the system of certification of mentor’s competences in the sector of eco-industry.
From the beginning of the EcoMentor project, the partnership was working on the development of the standard of professional competence for the mentor in the eco-industry sector. The partnership conducted surveys among the active mentors employed by companies from selected sub sectors of eco-industry: waste management, recycling, and renewable energies. The purpose of the survey was to verify the content of the standard of professional competence of mentor in the eco-industry. Based on the survey results the initial version of Standard of professional competence for mentor in the sector of eco-industry was developed. The initial version was consulted among the external experts. Currently, project partners are working on the final version of the Standard.

Modular training programme for mentors in the eco-industry

After the development of the Standard, the partnership began the works on the modular training programme for mentors in the eco-industry. Based on the analysis of employers’ requirements the programme is composed of three vocational training modules and corresponding modular units that are related to professional tasks performed in the mentor’s work. Proposed training modules:
1. Plan mentoring activities
2. Conduct mentoring activities
3. Evaluate mentoring activities
The modular unit programme will include detailed learning outcomes, teaching material, exercises, didactic resources, methodical recommendations for the modular unit implementation, and proposed methods of verification and assessment of the training participant’s achievements.
MENTORING IN INDUSTRY 4.0: A WIN-WIN SOLUTION FOR MENTORS AND COMPANIES
by Federica Lo Cascio (SINERGIE)
Nowadays, in the IT and Manufacturing fields there is a concept that resounds everywhere: every economist, politician, politic, journalist, analyst, expert, engineer talks about it. We are talking about Industry 4.0 (I4.0): the fourth Industrial Revolution.
I4.0 is significantly influencing working environments: it changes processes in purchase, production, manufacturing, sales or maintenance by including concepts as smart manufacturing, smart maintenance, as well as a high degree of automation and integration in all enterprise processes. It has far-reaching implications on business value creation, business models, downstream services and work organization. As a consequence, employees have to deal with transformed work processes and business models as well as with new technologies.
